Back in January 2003 Irish budget carrier acquired London Stansted based Buzz from KLM’s following a strategic review of business in light of the increasing competition in the European low cost arena.
The acquisition of Buzz enabled Ryanair to further expand at Stansted, London’s third main airport. Michael O’Leary said the acquisition was ‘A Timely Strategic move”.
Buzz acquisition saw the brief introduction of two new aircraft types into Ryanair’s fleet the Bae146-300 and Boeing 737-300, however with a year both types where returned to lessors replaced by larger more fuel efficient Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

In Summer’s 2009, 2010,2012 ,2013 former Buzz Boeing 737-3Q8 G-BZZJ now operating as EW-282PA Belavia visited Dublin Airport on Chernobyl Children flights.
