Vueling Airlines has commenced ad-hoc Airbus A320neo services on its Barcelona to Dublin with two aircraft visiting to date.
The first A320neo to visit was EC-NAE Airbus A320-271N MSN 8467 on 1st April with the second visit on Easter Sunday on Easter Sunday 23 April with EC-NAY Airbus A320-271N MSN 8601.
Vueling Airlines is the second carrier within the International Airlines Group (IAG) to operate Airbus A320neo family aircraft to Dublin after British Airways commencing operations with the type on 28 March. Aer Lingus is to due receive its first Airbus A321Neo-LR EI-LRA this summer.
International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (IAG) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pratt & Whitney for the PurePower Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine to power 47 Vueling’s firm Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
Chris Calio, Pratt & Whitney president, Commercial Engines said “Pratt & Whitney appreciates IAG’s faith in the GTF engine, which has demonstrated its promised fuel burn savings, emissions, and reduction in noise footprint”.
