US network carrier United Airlines resumed Washington Dulles-Dublin route using 174 seat two class Boeing 757-224(ER) aircraft following suspension for winter valley on 8 January. The first service UAL228/229 was operated by N14120 Boeing 757-224(ER) msn 27652 in full Star Alliance colours.
United has increasingly seen customers seek out spring shoulder season getaways European cities Barcelona, Dublin, Lisbon and Rome recommenced on 15 February. United stated “United flew 33% more customers across the Atlantic than in 2022, and the airline anticipates the demand will only continue to grow in spring 2024.”
The carrier will add four new domestic routes from Washington Dulles to Harrisburg, Philadelphia, State College and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton effective 27 June operated by United Express carriers CommuteAir and Republic Airways using Embraer 145 and Embraer 175 aircraft.
This summer United will operate its Largest Transatlantic Schedule in its History with non-stop to 38 Europran cities, including the first and only direct flight between U.S. and Faro, Portugal and new flights to Reykjavik, Brussels, Rome and Malaga.
