TUI Group has commenced its summer charter programme from Ireland for Falcon Holidays from Belfast International, City of Derry Airport, Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports using Thomson Airways whom is subleasing Boeing 737-800s from Sunwing Airlines Canada and Aerkly Boeing 737-400 operating weekend charters from Cork Airport.
A new destination this summer is from Belfast International to Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt) serving Red Sea Riviera resort.
Thomson Airways sub-leases Boeing 737-800s from Sunwing Airlines Canada to operate its summer programme from Belfast International and Dublin Airport. Interestingly the peak seasons are counter cyclical for Sunwing Airlines and Thomson Airways, hence aircraft are sub-leased from Sunwing Airlines for european summer and in winter return to Canada to operate sun charters to the Caribbean and Florida.
On 21st May C-FLYC Boeing 737-8BK c/n 33029 Sunwing Airlines was ferried Trois-Rivieres Airport-Quebec City-Dublin followed on 22nd May by C-FYUH Boeing 737-8K5/W c/n 34689 Sunwing Airlines ferried Toronto-Belfast International.
