The new Ryanair Polish charter subsidiary Ryanair Sun commenced operations on 26 April with inaugural flight from Ponzan to Zakynthos (Greece) operated by SP-RSA Boeing 737-8AS c/n 44686 ex EI-FEE in standard Ryanair colours with Polish flag next to registration.
Ryanair Sun callsign is “Magic Sun” and ICAO designation RYS the airline will operate charter flights from airports in Katowice, Poznan, Warsaw – Modlin and Wroclaw There are two aircraft in Warsaw – Modlin, and the remaining airports are one aircraft bases.
Ryanair Sun plans to operate flights for Polish tour operator, Grecos Holiday, to Athens, Chania, Kefalonia, Heraklion, and Thessaloniki. A similar agreement was signed with TUI, with 240 flights per week planned.
The carrier plans to become the leading charter in Polish market, as it expands its fleet to 5 by end of year growing to 15 aircraft in 2019, and 25 aircraft in 2020.
