Ryanair announced a record summer ’24 operation for Northern Sardinia launching 11 new routes and addition of Olbia to its route network, becoming the 30th Italian airport. The carrier will launch 10 new routes from Olbia including Dublin operating 60 weekly flights.
The new Dublin will operate from 2nd July to 22nd October with a twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The route is operated by a Olbia non-based aircraft.
Ryanair stated “There is now an opportunity for Sardinia to ensure accelerated passenger growth throughout the year, provided that the Sardinian government reduces access costs and eliminates the municipal surcharge that hinders growth and causes a serious shortage of winter connectivity. If the regional government eliminated the tax, Ryanair would respond by increasing traffic to Sardinia with an additional 2 million passengers each year (+50% growth) and opening a new base in Northern Sardinia, thus creating over 1,500 new jobs.”
