Ryanair and Manchester Airport Group have announced they
have concluded a new 10 year growth deal at Ryanair’s largest base London
Stansted, which will see Ryanair grow it’s traffic by 50% from 13.2 million to
over 20 million passengers per annum in return for package of lower cost and
low cost facilities.

The new growth deal is significant as London Stansted will
account for up to 25% of Ryanair’s growth plans up to 2019 as the delivery
stream of 175 Boeing 737-800s commences in September 2014.

In year one of the 10 year growth deal Ryanair expects
Stansted traffic to grow from 13.2 million to 14.5 million passengers.

In summer 2014 Ryanair will operate 120 routes from Stansted
including four new routes to Bordeaux, Dortmund, Lisbon and Rabat with a base
fleet of 43 Boeing 737-800s up six from this year operating 2,000 weekly
flights.

A new addition to Ryanair’s route network from the Stansted
growth deal is Lisbon.

MAG Chief Commercial Officer Ken O’Toole said “The new long

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary stated “Ryanair is pleased to
have agreed a new 10 year growth deal at London Stansted with MAG. This deal
will see our traffic grow by over 50% from 13.2 in 2012 to over 20m p.a in
return for lower costs and more efficient facilities at Stansted. This
agreement which will create over 7000 new jobs in Stansted, proves how UK
airports can flourish when released from the dead hand of BAA monopoly and is
the first dramatic initiative by MAG to reverse 7 years of decline, during
which Stansted traffic fell from 23.8 m to 17.5 m”.
