Ryanair announced its adding two new Greek airports Kalamata and Zakynthos to the route network from April 2013 launching two new routes from Brussels South Charleroi and Rome Ciampino to Kalamata and Milan Bergamo to Zakynthos.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said “Ryanair is pleased to announce routes at two new Greek airports, Kalamata and Zakynthos, Ryanair’s 9th and 10th Greek airports, which will deliver a combined total of 45,000 passengers p.a. and will sustain up to 45 “on-site” jobs at Kalamata and Zakynthos airports”.
Ryanair also announced anew London Stansted to Kefalonia route operating twice weekly from 1st April 2013, Ryanair operates no Greek routes from its Irish bases but offers six destinations from London Stansted.
Kalamata is the second-largest city of the Peloponnese in southern Greece. The capital and chief port of the Messenia regional unit, it lies along the Nedon River at the head of the Messenian Gulf.
The island of Cephalonia or Kefalonia also known as Kefallonia, is the largest of the Ionian Islands in western Greece.
Zakynthos or Zante is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. It is the third largest of the Ionian Islands. Zakynthos is a separate regional unit of the Ionian Islands region, and its only municipality.
