Irish budget carrier Ryanair added 16 brand new Boeing 737-800 in its last financial quarter Q4 in period from January to the 31 March 18 in a total investment of $1.302.4 Billion at list rices.
The carrier continues to make a strategic push in the German market capitalizing on the opportunities with the collapse of Air Berlin at primary airports adding new airports Berlin (Tegel) and Dusseldorf.
At its Palma de Mallorca airport base two additional aircraft have been added, four new German peak summer routes (June to August) have been announced from Berlin (Tegel), Dusseldorf, Nuremberg and Stuttgart as well as extra flights from Cologne and Dortmund to Palma.
The carrier will base four Boeing 737-800s at Berlin Tegel operated under Laudamotion flight designator OE supporting an agreement with Mr Niki Lauda to support his plan to develop and grow Laudamotion GmbH. Ryanair will acquire an initial 24.9% stake in Laudamotion and this will increase quickly to 75% subject to EU Competition approval.
