Challenging the traditional European holiday business model Maarlab an IT Consulting company specializing in tourism marketing and innovation based in Tenerife announced it has block booked 1,000 seats with Aer Lingus on Dublin to Tenerife South and Icelandair from Keflavik to Tenerife South routes between Easter 2023 and January 2024 including checked luggage of 20 kilos with stays of up to 8 days.
The selected the best hotel chains in the Canary Islands to optimize vacation days in GF Hoteles, Green Garden Resort , Sand & Sea Resorts and Spring Hotels Group.
In a LinkedIn Post MaarLab stated “Our main purpose is to create solutions that increase the power of hotels in the travel industry, until now dominated by the large tour operators in the Canary Islands destination.
One of these early solutions, Oceanbooking ( https://lnkd.in/drFugJEs), arises with the idea of facilitating the direct sales capacity of hoteliers, allowing them to sell hotel packages and flights from their own website, without intermediaries or commissions, with the option of deferred payment and personalized treatment.
It is a historic milestone, since it is the first time that a Canarian company has acquired flights that guarantee affordable connectivity for hotels in Tenerife, allowing hoteliers to have an ancestry in connectivity at the origin, a pending task for decades and that gives a spin to concepts such as destination autonomy.”
