Loganair announced its restoring services between Donegal and Glasgow for Summer 2023 from 1st July to 24th September, boosting connectivity between the UK and Ireland and providing the only direct air link between the UK and Donegal, operating twice weekly on Saturdays and Sundays.
The route will operated by a 48 seat ATR42-600 aircraft the first time the airline has flown the type on a route to Donegal.
The news also marks the rekindling of a long-standing relationship between Loganair and Donegal Airport, with the airline flying on the route as far back as the early 1990s.
Donegal Airport Managing Director Eilis Docherty said “Donegal Airport warmly welcomes the announcement of the resumption of the Donegal-Glasgow flights for Summer ’23 and will work closely with Loganair to ensure the success of the route.”
In an LinkedIn Post Loganair CEO Jonathan Hinkles stated “It’s a destination to which our crews love flying – whether for scenery, the friendly welcome from the team at Donegal Airport after every arrival, or for the interaction with our customers, who’ve been consistent in their calls for the flights to take off once again. Donegal becomes our 12th destination from Glasgow – and means we now fly to two of the world’s top ten most scenic airports straight from Glasgow!”.
