Boeing has delivered the last ever Boeing 737 ‘Next Generation’ (NG) to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, excluding military variant the P-8.

The Boeing 737-8K2 is registered as PH-BCL the 31st for KLM, was delivered Seattle to Amsterdam on 18th December 2019 as KLM9870 is named “‘Red-crested Pochard / Krooneend”.

The aircraft carries Line Number 7,542 and joins KLM’s 737NG fleet made up of 16 -700, 31 -800 and five -900 aircraft.

The aircraft in a 186 seat three class layout Europe Business Class, Economy Class and Economy Comfort features the Boeing Sky interior with larger luggage bins, modern LED lighting, new seats with adjustable headrest for extra comfort and USB power at every seat.

The aircraft made its first visit to Dublin on Sunday 5th January 2020 operating the lunchtime time KLM935/6 (ATC Callsign) KLM43C/25E.

Boeing has delivered more than 7,000 of the Next Generation series aircraft launched in in 1993 as the successor of the Boeing 737 Classic series. The first aircraft was delivered four years later, a Boeing 737-600, to SAS Scandinavian Airlines.
