This evening TSO8777 EI-UNV Boeing 777-222(ER) c/n 28714 Transaero Airlines became the first Boeing 777 to arrive in Shannon for maintenance work with its sister company Transaero Engineering Ireland Ltd, after a ferry flight from Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
The arrival of the Boeing 777 marks a significant milestone in the development of Transaero Engineering Ireland , as a number of staff undertook EASA 147 training for line/project maintenance on the type. The new Boeing 777 product line further enhances MRO capability in Ireland, broadening the range of services available to airlines.
The Boeing 777 is the third Transaero Airlines aircraft to arrive in Shannon for maintenance following EI-CXR Boeing 737-300 on 15th August and EI-CZD Boeing 767-216ER on 8th September.
A total of 1,379 Boeing 777s are in service worldwide with a further 349 on order, therefore their is immense opportunities to acquire third party work, as Transaero Engineering builds up capability on the type in the years ahead.
