Gulf global connector carrier Emirates Airlines announced following a spike in overseas travel demand from Ireland, Emirates has announced that from October 5th, a daily service between Dublin and Dubai will be restored using Boeing 777-300(ER) aircraft.
Factors driving increased demand include holidaymakers, Irish ex-pats, such as teachers, are returning to Dubai for work and Emirates is also seeing international students return to Ireland and passengers connecting to The Maldives, The Seychelles, Phuket and destinations across South Africa.
Emirates Ireland Country manager Enda Corneille said “We are seeing significant growth in demand both into and out of Dublin since the lifting of travel restrictions in Ireland in July. Dubai is proving particularly popular with its promise of sunshine, outdoor dining and entertainment and world class experiences. Holidaymakers can get away without worrying about having to quarantine on return, which we believe is helping to drive recent demand.
During the early days of the pandemic we were operating just two flights a week from Dublin, growing to four on the back of demand for our cargo business. So today’s news is a fantastic boost in confidence for international travel; it’s a welcome boost for the travel industry and for our customers. We are hopeful that the coming months will see the resumption of our double daily service from Dublin, which, for us, will be a return to ‘normal’”
Emirates Airlines operates from Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport EK/UAE161 departs Dubai 0715 arriving Dublin 1210 local. EK/UAE162 departs Dublin 1415 arriving Dubai 0045 local.
