This year Aer Lingus total capacity to and from North America for 2018 will reach a total of 2.75 million seats with an extra 177,000 added as frequencies from Dublin to Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco and two new routes added to Philadelphia and Seattle.
In anticipation of the launch of the new Dublin to Seattle commencing next Friday 18 May operating four times weekly the carrier has added the 13th Airbus A330 to its growing North American fleet.
The aircraft registered EI-GEY Airbus A330-202 c/n 441 was registered at Dublin on 5th April and entered service yesterday Friday 11 May operating an extra sector on the Dublin-Bilbao route as EIN2750 and then positioned back to Dublin as EIN2993.
The aircraft is former Qatar Airways A7-ACH on a five year lease from Castlelake and is named ‘St Beineon’.
This summer Aer Lingus will operate a 13 strong Airbus A330 fleet consisting of 5 A330-200s and 8 A330-300s bringing North Atlantic strength up to 17 aircraft (13 A330s and 4 B757-200s) the largest Transatlantic fleet in it’s history to date .
Since joining International Airlines Group (IAG) in 2015, Aer Lingus has launched six new North American services to Hartford, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Philadelphia and Seattle, marking the largest ever transatlantic expansion in the airline’s history.
