In an email posted to Irish Spotters Yahoo group this evening, details have emerged tomorrow’s proving flight from Shannon Airport to Boston of EI-LBR Boeing 757-2Q8(ET)/W c/n 28167 Air Contractors Ireland Ltd , operating on behalf of Aer Lingus.
The aircraft carried out an air test this evening as ‘ABR001T’.
Pat Whelan quoted:
“EI-LBR B757 Aer Lingus is expected to carry out a proving flight to Boston on Sat 01 Feb, overnight and depart Boston Sunday evening direct to DUBLIN to arrive Monday morning, will reposition to Shannon Monday evening. Expected to enter schedule flight service on Wed 05 Feb, on Shannon–Boston-Shannon run.”
Air Contractors has signed a damp lease contract with Aer Lingus to operate three Boeing 757 aircraft on transatlantic routes between Ireland and New York, Boston and Toronto, for a period of four years.
