This year fast growing Gulf carrier Emirates Airlines will take delivery of 37 new aircraft 21 Airbus A380s and 16 Boeing 777-300ERs marking the highest number of new deliveries ever in a single year.
To meet fleet demand Emirates has opportunities for turboprop and business jet pilots to fly wide body aircraft on it’s extensive network. A recent Irish success story is Jenel Davis of Stobart Air, flying the ATR 42/72 whom joined Emirates. This month Jenel will be joining the Boeing 777 fleet after completing a specifically designed training program for Turboprop pilots that include a Jet Orientation course, Computer Based Training (CBT), Fixed base and Flight Simulation training and Line Flying Under Supervision (LIFUS) training.
Emirates continues its search for experienced pilots to join the expanding fleet and recent changes in criteria mean that Emirates are now accepting applications from pilots from multi-engine, multi-crew, turboprop and jet aircraft, including business jets, with a MTOW of 10 tonnes or more.
In order to be eligible to fly Airbus A380 and Boeing 777fleets, pilots are required to have at least 2000 hours flying an aircraft with a MTOW (Maxmium Take Off Weight) of 20 tonnes or more; or at least 3000 hours flying an aircraft with a MTOW above 10 tonnes.
