Aer Lingus announced launch of a new seasonal route from Cork Airport to Lyon operating weekly from 23 December 2023 to 30 March 2024 for winter ski break market.
To meet demand for many fans from Cork and the South of Ireland who plan on travelling to the Rugby World Cup, a new service will operate to Paris CDG from 22 September to 28 October on selected dates.
Routes will operated by 174 seat Airbus A320-200 aircraft.
Aer Lingus Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Donal Moriarty, said ‘We are delighted to announce the launch of the Cork to Lyon route with Cork Airport, as well as the reintroduction of the Cork to Tenerife and Cork to Malaga routes and increased frequency from Cork to Lanzarote. We recognise the desire of our customers in the Southwest to continue their international exploration through the winter months and we are delighted to provide the Cork region with more routes to do so.”
Cork Airport Head of Aviation Business Development Tara Flynn said “Cork Airport welcomes the announcement by Aer Lingus of a new winter service to Lyon. The brand-new service will provide even more choice for passengers across the South of Ireland when planning a winter ski break. Lyon is France’s third largest city, and this new route will provide great access to some of France’s best-known ski resorts like Val Thorens, Chamonix, and Tignes.”
