The last link to Aer Arann brand disappeared as from 0001 hours local on Sunday 3rd August. Aer Arann changed it’s ICAO three letter code from REA to STK and telephony designator callsign from “Aer Arann” to “Stobart”.
ATC providers and flight crews were adjusting to the changed callsign referring to “Aer Arann” callsign before quickly changing to “Stobart”.
An aviation enthusiast on a Dublin Aviation facebook page remarked “Pity to see such a good callsign go”.
All aircraft carry “Operated by Stobart Air” titles.
EI-REI ATR72-201 c/n 267 named “Ainle / Warrior” is the only aircraft in its fleet painted in full Stobart Air colours. This aircraft provides flexibility to interchange on Aer Lingus Regional and Flybe franchise operations as required.
Stobart Air aims to become a specialist in franchise or contract flying for major European airlines and to double its passenger numbers within five years, as a white label provider.
The airline operates under the Aer Lingus Regional brand as part of its franchise agreement with Aer Lingus and Flybe brand from London Southend.
Stobart Air is based at Northwood in Santry, next to Dublin Airport.
