EirTrade Aviation announced commencement of its first Boeing 777-300ER disassembly in Knock. The aircraft, MSN 32643, harvested material will be repaired to support EirTrade’s B777 customer base, with stock to be located at EirTrade’s facilities in Dallas and Dublin & Knock.
EirTrade Aviation VP Origination & Trading, Lee Carey stated “It’s a first for us, and a first time this aircraft has landed at the airport. There is a shortage of B777-300ER material in the market. EirTrade has acquired multiple A320, A330 and E190 aircraft already this year together with several commercial aircraft engine types. In addition to this aircraft, EirTrade has several other B777 aircraft in the pipeline that are expected to be disassembled in Q3 & Q4 this year.”
The aircraft’s arrival in Knock generated local excitement amongst the aviation community. Despite a cloudy day, onlookers were treated to a great view as the plane touched down for the first, and last, time.
