Irish budget Ryanair based its first 197 seat Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 ‘Gamechanger ‘ aircraft in a $100 million investment at Cork Airport effective 1 June as the fourth aircraft in addition to thee Boeing 737NG’s , supporting 33 routes, including new routes to Brussels Charleroi (Belgium) Rhodes (Greece) and Zadar (Croatia) and increased frequencies on existing routes.
EI-IHR Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 msn 62360 Ryanair positioned 1 June London Stansted to Cork as RYR839 entering service operating RYR902/1 to and from London Stansted. On 4 June EI-IHR was rotated with EI-IGF msn 67074 operating RYR1863 from Manchester becoming based aircraft to date.
The Boeing 737-8200 ‘Gamechanger’ aircraft are fitted Boeing Sky Interior, featuring modern sculpted sidewalls and window reveals, LED lighting that enhances the sense of spaciousness and larger pivoting overhead stowage bins. The uses the latest engine technology (CFM Leap-1Bengines) which are 16% more fuel efficient than the previous generation aircraft , reduces noise emissions by 40% , decreasing fuel consumption by 16% , decreasing NOx emissions by 8%, delivering 4% more capacity per aircraft.
