International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) carrier British Airwaus Monday 20 May commenced a new Dublin to London Gatwick service, operating 12 weekly up to 29 September 2024. The service is operated by Dublin based Emerald Airlines using 72 seat ATR72-600 aircraft under wet-lease using BA flight numbers.
The Inaugural service BAW923 was operated by EI-GPP ATR72-212A(600) msn 1322 departing Dublin 0725 local.
The new Gatwick route will bring the British Airway operation from Dublin to over 90 flights per week serving the London area (Gatwick, Heathrow and London City), connecting to British Airways extensive long-haul and short-haul route network, including Cancun, Punta Cana, and Orlando.
This wet-lease agreement with British Airways signifies Emerald Airlines driving maxmium fleet utilization , highlighting the carrier’s growing market share in regional air transport between Ireland and the UK.
