Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said during a hastily arranged press conference in Oslo Rygge Airport
last Thursday 12th April to reject accusations that his low-cost airline treated its employees like slaves, that he will be returning to Oslo Rygge in six weeks to announce ‘A raft of new winter sun routes’ which subsequently went unreported by mainstream media ,Ryanair’s biggest base in the region with six Boeing 737-800s operating 50 routes with a seventh aircraft to be added from July.
Moss Rygge Airport Director Paul Tandberg said the negative focus on Ryanair is bad news for the airport and County Mayor Ole Haabeth (Ap) warned people not to boycott Ryanair for fears it would hit the airport and air fares would substantially increase if low-cost carriers leave.
Ryanair’s 37th European Base Oslo Rygge opened in March 2010 and for Summer 2013 operates 50 routes delivering 2 million passenger per annum and launching its latest routes to Kaunas and Rzeszow on 30th April & 1st May 2013.
