Buzz a subsidiary of Ryanair Holdings took delivery of its first Boeing 737-8200 SP-RZE msn 62323 on Friday 3rd September using callsign ‘Magic Sun 82E’. The aircraft touched down in Dublin Airport 2017 local for post delivery work prior to entry to service.
On the afternoon of Wednesday 8th September the aircraft positioned from Dublin to Buzz’s base in Warsaw Modlin with the aircraft remaining till 10th September before positioning to Krakow. The aircraft will be based in Warsaw Modlin enabling the carrier increase capacity on its most popular holiday destination.
Buzz CEO Michał Kaczmarzyk said “We are pleased to receive the new “Gamechanger” straight from the Boeing factory in Seattle. It is the first aircraft of this type in Poland and one of 8 that will enter our fleet by the end of this year. All new planes will go to Polish bases in Warsaw-Modlin, Kraków and Wrocław.”
Ryanair’s group chief financial officer Neil Sorahan said on investor conference call their is potential for Buzz fleet to grow up to 65 aircraft. Buzz is due to receive a total of 15 Boeing 737-8-200’s from Ryanair’s group order of 210 aircraft.
Buzz operates a fleet of 47 Boeing 737-800 aircraft from its Central and Eastern European (CEE) bases with 27 based in Poland at Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow,Ponzan, Wroclaw and Warsaw Modlin. Buzz is due to take delivery of a further 8 Boeing 737-8200 aircraft by end of the year and open its new Riga base with 2 Boeing 737-800s from 31st October operating 30 routes.
