Aer Lingus 8th Airbus A321-253NX aircraft, registered EI-LRH msn 10319 “St Fechin / Féchín” re-entered commercial revenue 16 May operating its first service to Dublin to London Heathrow as EIN176/177. The aircraft operated first Transatlantic service on 19 May as EIN101 to Newark.
The aircraft entry into service coincides with the launch of its first new long-haul route in almost four years from Dublin Airport to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), as part of its largest ever North American programme this summer, with over 2.25 million seats available.
The A321LR registered G-EIRH positioned Manchester to Dublin 25 April as ‘EUK981’ prior to restoration onto Irish Registry as EI-LRH.
The Airbus A321neo LR aircraft accounts for over a third of Aer Lingus’ current fleet. It is one of the most sustainable aircraft crossing the Atlantic delivering up to 20% reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions and close to 50% reduction in noise footprint when compared to previous generation aircraft.
