Iceland’s flag carrier Icelandair announced in June 2022 has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the purchase of four additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with the aim of expanding its current fleet to 17 units for Summer 2023 and for route network growth adding Detroit, Prague, Barcelona, Tel Aviv and Crete.
Planespotters.net data reveals three aircraft delivered to date where previously operated by Irish carrier Norwegian Air International (NAI) between 2018 and 2019 from the carrier’s Dublin base to Providence, Stewart, and Toronto Hamilton in North America until routes suspended in September 2019.
