ITA Airways headquarted in Rome Fiumicino with a base in Milan Linate operates a fleet of 82 Irish registered Airbus aircraft including Airbus A220-100, Airbus A220-300, Airbus A320ceo family, Airbus A330-200s and Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
During 2023 ITA Airways added three Airbus types to its fleet, Airbus A220-100, Airbus A321Neo and Airbus A330-900(neo).
The carrier took delivery of first of six Airbus A220-100 aircraft registered EI-HLA msn 50068 named ‘Fiona May’ on 1st November at its Rome Fiumicino Hub, is operated in a 126 seat all economy class layout on Milan Linate to London City route excuslively.
The carrier took delivery of its first Airbus A321neo registered EI-HXA msn 11561 named ‘Massimiliano Rosolino’ on lease from Air Lease Corporation on 10th November in a 164 seat three class configuration, which will serve the airline’s medium haul routes.
The carrier added its first Airbus A330-941(Neo) registered EI-HJN msn 2035 named ‘Gelindo Bordin’ on 27th May.
ITA Airways Chief Technology Officer Francesco Presicce, said “With the arrival of the Airbus A321neo, ITA Airways fleet will include all the last generation Airbus aircraft families – the A220, A320, A330 and A350. Completely built according to ITA Airways’ new cabin design, the new A321neo will enable us to further develop our international network. Moreover, it marks another milestone in our new environment-friendly fleet development strategy with cutting-edge technologies optimizing efficiency and service quality while significantly reducing environmental impact.”
The carrier plans to expand its fleet to 95 aircraft by the end of 2024 from the current 82 units.
