Aer Lingus introduced a new Airbus A320neo to their based fleet at Cork Airport with effective 7 November 2023 to operate the flagship Aer Lingus route to London Heathrow, four-times daily, year-round.
EI-NSA Airbus A320neo msn 10712 named “St. Thomas” operated EIN723 inbound from London Heathrow 7 November to commence base operations.
Aer Lingus a commenced a new weekly Saturday service from Cork to Lyon on 23 December operated by 174 seat Airbus A320-200 till 31 March 2024. The first service EIN828/9 operated by EI-DVE msn 03129.
To cater peak Christmas demand Aer Lingus reinstated Cork to Malaga route operating three times weekly from 13 December 2023 to 7 January 2024 by 174 seat Airbus A320-200. EI-EDS msn 03755 operated first seasonal service EIN882/3.
The newest member of the Aer Lingus short haul fleet, the Airbus A320neo delivers up to 20% reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions per seat and close up to a 50% reduction in noise footprint in certain phases of flying when compared to previous generation aircraft.
