WestJet’s Disney-themed MagicPlane C-GWSZ Boeing 737-8CT/W construction number 37092 visited Dublin Airport , for the first time this week on Monday 7th July. The aircraft generated considerable interest in Dublin’s aviation community both inside and outside the perimeter fence.
The news of visit broke through social media platform Twitter from a flight dispatcher in Calgary “@WeeinYYC @DubATC The WestJet Disney bird is heading your way tonight/tomorrow morning as WJA16/17. #headsup #avgeek”.
Early on Sunday evening many aviation avgeeks/enthusiasts tracked it’s departure from Toronto to St John’s on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
Dublin Airport Twitter page posted a picture of #MagicPlane which got re-tweeted 108 times.
C-GWSZ is known in the social media world as the #MagicPlane. Over the next five years, the Magic Plane will fly more than 400,000 guests a total of nearly eight million kilometres.
The 737 colour scheme is a joint collaboration between WestJet, WestJet Vacations and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts (Canada) featuring Mickey Mouse in his most famous role, Sorcerer Mickey.
