Ryanair announced Krakow as its 53rd European Base and 2nd Polish base from April 2013 with two-base aircraft launching four new routes to Dortmund, Gothenburg, Manchester and Kos and will increase frequencies on routes to East Midlands,Oslo-Rygge and Rome Ciampino to operate a total of 31 routes.
The airline will operate 224 weekly flights up 16% and carry 1.6 million passengers from the base up 16%.
Ryanair Deputy CEO Michael Cawley said “Ryanair is delighted to announce Krakow as our 53rd base (and our second in Poland ) and to unveil 4 new routes (31 in total) to/from Dortmund, Gothenburg, Manchester and Kos, beginning in April, as part of our summer 2013 schedule”.
The airline launched Dublin Airport to Krakow route back in April 2006 ,which currently operates five times weekly using a Dublin-Based aircraft and from Sunday 31st March 2013 the route will operate daily with a Krakow-Based aircraft and Cork Airport to Krakow three times weekly.
