Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) celebrated the return of Aer Lingus Dublin route on Thursday 7th April for the first time in two years. Aer Lingus will operate six times weekly in April increasing to daily service from 11th May. The first Aer Lingus was operated EI-LRF Airbus A321-251NX msn 10264.
The PHL Airport Art Program commissioned local artists to create special designs for pins given to passengers and flight crews. The artwork highlights the destinations with specific colours or by featuring well-known landmarks, with the Dublin celebratory pin designed by Kyle Confehr.
PHL Director of Guest Experience Leah Douglas stated “The artists had fun using their creativity to depict the cities and the passengers and flight crews were surprised and excited to receive keepsakes commemorating their trips.”
Aer Lingus Vice President US Bill Byrne stated “Aer Lingus is fully committed to connecting Ireland to North America. We are delighted to be building back our connectivity this year, operating 14 direct routes between Ireland and North America. This summer marks an exciting period for us as we welcome back so many much-loved US destinations for the first time since March 2020 including Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Seattle, as well as greater frequency on our Chicago and Washington D.C. services.’’
