Norse Atlantic Airways placed a Boeing 787-9 EI-HAI msn 38789 on the Irish registry at Shannon Airport on 15 December named “Rago”. In due course the aircraft is to be-registered as LN-FNE. The aircraft was formerly registered as G-CKWD to Norwegian Air UK.
Norse plans to start commercial operation in spring 2022 with the first flights connecting Oslo to select cities in the U.S.
Norse Atlantic Airways CEO & founder Bjørn Tore Larsen said “We believe that transatlantic travel will resume with full force once the pandemic is behind us. Norse will be there to offer attractive and affordable flights on our more environmentally friendly Dreamliners to both the leisure and cost-conscious business traveller,”
Norse’s planned fleet of aircraft consists of 15 Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners. The next deliveries will continue until April and all aircraft will be initially parked at Oslo Airport. The carrier aims to establish several hubs throughout the US and Europe, with destinations including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Paris, and Oslo also plans to collaborate with other Norwegian airlines, namely Flyr and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
