Lufthansa Cargo announced additional capacities in its medium-haul network on specially converted Airbus A321 freighters with its second aircraft registered D-AEUA msn 1988 to enter service in October, offering a payload of 28 tons per flight to meet growing demand for eCommerce solutions and same day deliveries.
The carrier will increase Dublin to five times weekly operating via Birmingham (BHX) and Manchester (MAN) inbound and outbound depending on day of operation to its Frankfurt Base.
Lufthansa Cargo’s Chief Commercial Officer Ashwin Bhat, said “I am very pleased about the expansion of our A321 freighter network and capacity. To the UK and Ireland, for example, we will offer daily weekday flights to Birmingham and Dublin, enabling our customers to build reliable, scalable and fast supply-chains. The A321 freighter is a very flexible aircraft, which will enable us to build customized networks and solutions for our customers”.
Lufthansa Cargo operates a fleet of two Airbus A321P2F based in Frankfurt (FRA) operated by Lufthansa Group carrier Lufthansa Cityline under wet-lease agreement operating under Lufthansa Cargo flight numbers (GEC). The carrier plans to add two additional A321P2F aircraft in 2023Q1.
