The EL AL CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia during the closing keynote address at APEX Expo Dublin held in May, shared EL AL’s intention to fly to Dublin Airport.
In an LinkedIn Post EL AL CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia after attending the #Google Travel & Tourism Conference held recently in Tel Aviv said “The Abraham Accords have opened up various exciting possibilities, EL AL is analyzing the potential of new routes to Tokyo, Dublin and Melbourne”.
El Al Israel Airlines last operated to Dublin on 25 April 2020 as 4X-EDD Boeing 787-9 msn 63392 painted in “San Francisco / Las Vegas” special colour scheme operated a PPE Charter flight from Beijing.
The new route could also have an impact on how travellers from Israel reach North America. Dublin Airport has US Preclearance, meaning US-bound passengers can clear US immigration and customs inspections through DUB Hub. Passengers could self connect with Aer Lingus, American Airlines, Delta Airlines and United Airlines.
All three new routes were announced in 2019 before the outbreak of the Covid pandemic and then cancelled when international travel was disrupted, EL AL had planned to operate Tel Aviv to Dublin times weekly using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
