Bratislava Airport has marked the 10th anniversary of Ryanair’s base operations, celebrating a decade partnership with Europe’s largest low-cost airline. The Ryanair base was officially established in late March 2015, though the Irish carrier’s presence in the Slovak capital dates back nearly 20 years.

Ryanair launched its first flights from Bratislava on 10 October 2005 and has since become a cornerstone of the airport’s growth. Today, it remains one of Bratislava Airport’s key partners, helping connect the Slovak capital with destinations across Europe.

As part of its summer 2025 schedule, Ryanair is operating 24 routes from Bratislava, including five new additions: Bari, Milan-Malpensa, Gdansk, Zadar, and Skiathos. The airline is basing three aircraft at the airport, two Boeing 737-800s, each with a capacity of 189 passengers, and one Boeing 737 MAX, which can accommodate 197 passengers.

After nearly two decades of flying to Milan-Bergamo, Ryanair is replacing the route with a new direct service to Milan-Malpensa, the city’s main international airport, offering improved connectivity and convenience for travelers.

The 10-year base anniversary coincides with two other significant milestones. In October, Bratislava Airport and Ryanair will mark 20 years of collaboration. Meanwhile, Ryanair is celebrating its own major anniversary, 40 years since the airline launched its first flights on 8 July 1985.
