The first Boeing 737 MAX 9 to debut at Dublin Airport was TF-ICA msn 44357 Icelandair on Sunday 29th August operating ICE416/7 to and from Keflavik (Reykjavik) with the aircraft touching down at 1347 local.
In February 2013 Boeing and Icelandair announced a firm order for 16 737 MAX airplanes, aircraft at more than $1.6 billion at list prices. The order, originally announced as a commitment for 12 airplanes in December 2012, has been increased to 16 airplanes and includes 737 MAX 8s and 9s, as well as purchase rights for eight additional 737 MAXs.
According to website Statisat the Boeing 737 MAX 9 has an average price of $128.9 million.
The Boeing 737 MAX 9 has a two class 193 seat configuration featuring the new Boeing Sky Interior with a range of 3,550 nautical miles (6,570 kilometres) powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines.
Icelandair operates a fleet of 29 Boeing 737 MAX 8, MAX 9, Boeing 757-200, 300 and 3 Boeing 767-300(ER) and 5 DHC8-200/400 operated by Icelandair Connect.
