Akasa Air, a brand of SNV Aviation Private Limited, is an new Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Mumbai, commenced operations on 7th August with its first flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. The carrier has operating bases at Bengaluru and Mumbai focused on metro to tier 2 & 3 route connectivity.
The carrier plans to grow from 13 to 18 aircraft by the end of March 2023. The airline will add 54 aircraft, taking its total fleet size to 72 Boeing 737-8 and 737-8200 aircraft over the next five years inducting a new aircraft every two weeks.

VT-YAL Boeing 737-8 MAX msn 44870 Akasa Air ‘AKJ9510’ passed abeam Dublin at 1355 local on delivery flight from Keflavik to Ankara on 16 December.
VT-YAM Boeing 737-8 MAX msn 44871 Akasa Air ‘AKJ9512’ passed abeam Dublin at 1535 local on delivery flight from Keflavik to Ankara on 23 December.
The aircraft originally built for Jet Airways and GOL Airlines are leased from Dublin based aircraft lessor AerCap.
