Lufthansa resumed its seasonal Cork-Frankfurt service on March 30 and, in response to growing market demand, has upgraded the route with a larger Airbus A319-100 aircraft. Effective April 4, the 138-seat A319 replaces the 100-seat CRJ1000 aircraft previously operated by Cityjet.
The larger Airbus A319 provides significantly more capacity on both inbound and outbound flights, offering travelers enhanced options for connections via Lufthansa’s global hub at Frankfurt Main. This summer, Lufthansa has also increased the frequency of the Cork-Frankfurt route to four weekly services, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Germany remains a vital market for Ireland, with the country ranking as Ireland’s third-largest source of international visitors and the largest from continental Europe. The expanded service aims to meet demand while offering passengers more flexibility and connectivity to destinations worldwide through Lufthansa and its Star Alliance partners.
