Aer Lingus, 17 May, commenced a new route between Dublin and Denver International, Colorado, marking the airline’s largest ever North American network , operating four days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, onboard a 271-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Aer Lingus becomes the 24th airline to serve DEN.
Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry said “We are thrilled to commence our Denver route today, another important milestone for Aer Lingus to drive forward our North American expansion. The new service is also of huge importance to the Denver region as Aer Lingus is the only European carrier that flies nonstop to Ireland and offers convenient onward connections to the UK and Europe via our hub here at Dublin Airport. The new direct route to Denver will also facilitate increased collaboration between Ireland and Colorado’s thriving business and tourism industries and we look forward to welcoming many passengers on board.”
The new Dublin-Denver service will bring the total number of routes operated by Aer Lingus to 18 between North America and Ireland. The strategic expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to its Dublin Hub strategy, not just between North America and Ireland, but also offering seamless connections to Europe, including London and the UK, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Frankfurt, among others.
Dublin ranks as one of Denver’s largest unserved markets in Europe, with more than 40,000 travellers between the two cities annually. The new Aer Lingus service to Dublin is estimated to produce over $65 million in annual economic impact to Colorado’s economy and support the creation of more than 400 new jobs across the state, generating over $25 million in additional wages.
Situated against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, Denver is a leading destination for leisure travel and a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with spectacular scenery, hiking, and outdoor pursuits.
