Boeing 20 April, delivered two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to customers to Canada based Air Canada and to Bahrain state owned carrier Gulf Air , interestingly both aircraft routed over Ireland on their respective delivery flights.
The first aircraft A9C-FJ Boeing 787-9 msn 40602 Gulf Air ‘GFA9002’ passed over Ireland between 0730 and 0800 UTC local routing Paine Field, Washington state to its new home base in Bahrain. In an LinkedIn Post Dublin based lessor AerCap Congratulated Gulf Air on the delivery , as lessor first 787-9 to delivery to the carrier.
Air Canada Q4 2022 MD&A dated 17 February stated “Air Canada exercised options for the purchase of three Boeing 787-9 aircraft which are scheduled to be delivered in 2023 and 2024.” C-GWUU Boeing 787-9 msn 66991 Air Canada ‘ACA2330’ passed over Ireland between 1823 and 1847 UTC local routing Charleston, South Carolina to Birmingham, UK, presumably at Boeing supplier STS Aviation Group Services for post delivery modification work.
Boeing 787-9 can seat 296 passenger in two class configuration with a range of 7,565 nautical miles (14,010 km) powered by GEnx-1B or Trent 1000 engines, The 2022 average price list of a 787-9 is $292.5 million with the pricing “Reflecting a range of available options and configurations for each model” that include additional or special performance capabilities, interior configurations, avionics, fuel capacity, and other items.”
